The new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona 1st 100% electric muscle car on the market
The electric Dodge Charger is cautiously starting to come into its own. The new model is all-electric, doing away with combustion engines.
The fact that Dodge has ceased producing combustion engines for its most iconic muscle vehicle is unquestionable evidence that the automotive industry is undergoing significant transformation. We are discussing the future version of the Dodge Charger, which will run entirely on electricity. Yes, you read correctly.
The final 2024 Dodge Charger equipped with a V8 engine went off the assembly line a few days ago. One of the three iconic muscle car models—the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, or Dodge Charger—is almost certainly what comes to mind when someone thinks of a muscle vehicle.
Although they have also had other engines, they are historically associated with massive V8 engines, which American manufacturers have used as their emblem. Until now, that is, since history is starting to shift.
On its social media pages, Dodge has released fresh photos of the upcoming Charger—the first electric Charger ever. The pictures, which have been purposefully made grey to avoid being too bright, depict a pre-production automobile that is still partially camouflaged. But they don’t leave much room for interpretation and give us a decent impression of the car’s lines.
The design must follow the model’s conventional philosophy. The hood is massive, with a significant aperture of some sort to direct airflow.
The front of the car is characterized by the low, broad Charger rectangular grille that almost completely encloses the vehicle’s width. The rear also has a huge overhang and a tiny spoiler over the trunk lid, carrying over the straight lines and rectangular forms seen earlier.
The grey paint and black wheels on the Dodge vehicle shown on its networks also give it a more ominous look. The word “Daytona,” carefully visible on the back bumper, indicates that we are looking at the most potent model of the new electric Charger Daytona SRT.
2024 Dodge Charger Release Date
By the end of 2024, the new electric 2024 Dodge Charger will be available. Regarding technical characteristics, the brand still needs to provide a statement. One thing is sure: it will continue to produce a lot of noise and be extremely powerful, perhaps with 800 horsepower (the most recent SRT Hellcat has 707 horsepower). A ‘fake’ noise created by speakers would still reach a stunning 126 decibels.
Dodge has also not stated whether it plans to travel to Europe, as has been speculated, to take advantage of the continent’s new electric era and the lack of anti-pollution laws.
The V8 engine is going away and won’t return, while the “regular” Charger models are said to retain gasoline engines, notably the new 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, turbocharged “Hurricane” engines.
