Audi Q6L e-tron is an electric SUV that won a battle and more electric autonomy for the Chinese market.

Audi recently unveiled the extended model of one of its most recent electric SUVs in China: the Q6L e-tron. This model continues the brand’s four-ring strategy of introducing vehicles with a longer wheelbase to the Chinese market and tailoring them to the preferences of the local populace.

The Q6L e-tron will be produced at the new Changchun factory in China, where the company headquarters and production center for Audi FAW NEV is located, and is confirmed to be the first model to use the PPE platform by its presentation at the Beijing Motor Show. This long-wheelbase model will offered there, as you can imagine.

Not only has the German brand extended the Q6 e-tron, but it has undergone far more extensive development. They are also able to choose a larger battery, which resulted in increased electrical autonomy: 107 kWh of capacity (7 kWh more) and more than 700 kilometers of range based on the CLTC cycle. That was made possible by their longer length (105 mm more wheelbase).

With its 800-volt design, the new Audi Q6L e-tron can achieve high maximum charging capabilities of up to 270 kW with direct current. That means it can charge from 10 to 80% in 25 minutes and regain up to 260 km of autonomy in just 10 minutes.

It will be in two variants offered in China: 255 kW (347 HP) of power for rear propulsion and 345 kW (469 HP) for quattro all-wheel drive. Both will include an efficient thermal management system and other features that include differentiators in the design.

Audi has given the Q6L version a new personality on the front with a larger grille (something unprecedented in its presence in the Chinese market), new body colors, a new lighting signature, optimized 21-inch wheels, practically flush door handles with proximity sensor, and illuminated front and rear logos. The Q6L version is 4.88 meters long with a generous wheelbase of 2.99 meters (4.77 and 2.88 meters in the Q6, respectively).

With eight options for the Matrix LED headlights, including the second-generation OLED digital rear lights, the active digital light signature may also not be absent. Exclusive innovations designed for Chinese drivers will also included on the inside, along with a newly created electronic architecture that includes five high-performance computers and semi-automated driving features.

«The external design and the inside digital experience of the Q6L e-tron will set it apart from the worldwide model more than ever. The needs of Chinese consumers will be the cabin’s primary focus, Audi representatives emphasized during their presentation.
