The wild Dodge Charger Daytona is the first electric muscle car on the market
We’re already seeing the new Dodge Charger around. The North American symbol has been completely redesigned to fit the modern era. In addition to being offered in electric form, it will also be equipped with a 6-cylinder in-line “Hurricane” biturbo engine, courtesy of the Stellantis group’s STLA Large multi-energy platform. The days of the V8 HEMI’s thirst are gone.
Because of the internal combustion engine under the hood, the thermal model (Sixpack) will not attach the front R-Wing deflector, which sets the electric versions apart and earns them the Daytona surname. The 1969 Charger Daytona, with its aerodynamic design, is honored by this solution.
The considerable hood, the distinct rear shoulders, and the fastback-style top allow the Dodge Charger Daytona to be instantly identified as a muscle vehicle. The continuous taillights and the darker headlights pay homage to the Charger’s original retractable headlights. It will come in three- and five-door body styles for sale.
The Uconnect 5 infotainment system, equipped with a 12.3-inch touch screen and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, has digital instruments measuring 10.25 and 16 inches in the cabin. The degree of regenerative braking retention may be adjusted using the paddles behind the steering wheel.
The Dodge Charger Daytona offers up to 510 kilometers of autonomy
The R/T and Scat Pack models will be the first in the Charger Daytona lineup. Their maximum range of 510 and 418 km EPA will come from a shared 400-volt electrical system and a 100.5 kWh battery. It will also be equipped with all-wheel drive because of the two electric motors.
The Scat Pack can reach 670 HP (0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds), compared to the R/T’s 496 HP (0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds). Regarding rapid charging, it will take 27 minutes for both devices to get an 80% charge. Later, an SRT Banshee model with a higher power and 800-volt design will be introduced; however, its debut date has yet to be discovered.
The PowerShot feature gives you an extra 40 HP for 15 seconds. In addition, other unique features (such as Drift, Launch Control with front wheel locking, Donut, etc.) will provide a muscular driving experience. The Dodge Charger Daytona is anticipated to be sold in Europe through Stellantis multi-brand stores, although there is no official confirmation.
