Citroën will animate the utility segment with the upcoming arrival of the 2023 Citroen c3in the Spanish market. It is a car of just under 4 meters in length with 100% electric technology.
The French manufacturer is going to launch, in the spring in the Indian market, a new electric utility vehicle, the 2023 Citroen c3. Subsequently, it will reach the European market and, thus, Spain.
It could mount a 95 hp engine, like the one that already animates the Fiat 500, and its same batteries of 27.3 kWh of gross power and 21.3 kWh useful. The Italian car charges at 50 kW maximum and that could be bettered in the 2023 Citroen c3.
It seems certain that the 2023 Citroen c3 to be sold in India has LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries made by China’s Svolt, with approximately 30 kWh capacity.
But, if Citroën rejects taking advantage of the capacity of the new Svolt factory in Europe, for the 2023 Citroen c3 that will be sold in Spain, they may use some 48 kWh cells with NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) cells provided by CATL.
Other sources suggest that the batteries that the French car would house would be lithium iron phosphate (LFP) with a capacity of about 30 kWh. Thus, the small car would be around 315 kilometers of autonomy with a single charge.
In any case, the electric autonomy of the future Citroën ëC3 will not be less than 300 kilometers, according to the WLTP cycle.
The Citroën ë-C3 will be sold in Spain
Laurent Barria, director of Marketing and Communication of Citroën, has already confirmed that the C3 will have a 100% electric version that is used in “accessibility to electric mobility”.
It comes first to India because Citroën wants to open up a market to compete with models with a selling price of between 10 and 12,000 Indian rupees and it is being manufactured there, specifically in Tamil Nadu.
Rival the Dacia Spring
The new and upcoming Citroën ë-C3 will be located in the utility car segment.
